Pambula & Pambula Accommodation

Find and book your Pambula accommodation online with our easy to use booking system. Pambula and Pambula Beach offer a wide variety of accommodation to choose from.

Pambula is a small historic village just 10 minutes drive south of Merimbula on the far south coast of NSW. While the village has a pretty rural setting, beautiful Pambula Beach is just 3.5 kms away.

Pambula was originally built on the Pambula River in 1843 however due to frequent floods, the village was moved to higher ground where it is today. The first Europeans used the area as a stock route for their cattle in the 1830s but tented accommodation gradually gave way to more permanent buildings with Pambula being proclaimed a town in 1885.

In 1888 the discovery of gold brought a boom to the town however by the early 1900s this gave way to agriculture and dairy farming. At that time Pambula was an important commercial centre in the district with a court house, banks, hospital, newspaper, etc – many of these well-maintained buildings can still be seen today.

The main street of Pambula is Quondola Street. Take a walk and find cafes, restaurants, galleries and gift shops.

The Tourist Information Centre is located in the Pambula Newsagency at 23 Quondola St, Pambula, telephone 02-6495-660. It is open daily and takes bookings for cruises and fishing tours plus provides maps, brochures and advice on what to see and do in Pambula.
